Job Description

Our client is a power distribution component manufacturer with an exciting, long history. They are primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with low voltage experience to create and release electrical drawings for our growing customer base.


Switchgear Electrical Design Engineer-Low Voltage Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update electrical drawings that include single line, three lines, control schematics and BOMs
  • Actively select protection, metering and control components based on the necessary application
  • Prepare electrical schematics, wiring plans, interconnection diagrams and cable schedules; release electrical manufacturing drawings to production and purchasing adhering to the production schedule
  • Support company-wide initiatives, including quality improvement projects to maintain best-in-class service
  • Provide technical support to sales and distributors as needed

Switchgear Electrical Design Engineer-Low Voltage Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years experience in electrical manufacturing or electrical construction OR
  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with 3+ years of electrical manufacturing or electrical construction experience
  • Must have experience working with low voltage products
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or other software
  • Demonstrated understanding of single, three phase and DC circuits
  • Demonstrated understanding of breaker selection and cable sizing
  • Strong proficiency in control wiring. control schematics, and interconnection power feed diagrams.
  • NEC, ANSI and UL standards of electrical design is a plus
  • Solid understanding of control relay logic and PLC a plus
