Our client is a power distribution component manufacturer with a long history. They are primed for aggressive expansion into new and existing markets. We are seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to create and release customized electrical drawing packages for our growing customer base. This role will also have responsibility for coaching and mentoring the electrical engineering team.

Lead Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:

• Develop electrical approval drawings inclusive of single lines, three lines, control schematics and bill of materials for assigned projects
• Oversee and review junior engineering design packages
• Prepare and release electrical manufacturing drawings inclusive of wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, and bill of materials to production and purchasing
• Support manufacturing component mounting assembly and wiring activities as needed.
• Act as SME for sales, distributors, and junior design engineers
• Support company-wide initiatives, including quality improvement projects to maintain best-in-class service

Lead Electrical Design Engineer Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years experience in electrical manufacturing or electrical construction or
• Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with 5+ years of electrical manufacturing or electrical construction
• High level of competency in AutoCAD electrical or similar software
• Adept with single lines, three lines, control schematics and BOMs
• Experience with Medium Voltage electrical design, exp with low voltage a plus
• High understanding and ability to accurately select protection, metering, and control components like circuit breakers, protection devices, and cable sizing.
• Experience with the application of power distribution and control schematics for electrical equipment and systems including switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, electrical control panels, and power distribution circuits
• Understanding of regulatory/compliance standards
• Ability to read technical drawings, and project specs and ability to clearly communicate technical info to others.
• Demonstrated success with leading and/or mentoring team members and peers
