Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. As an IT Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and translate business requirements into technical specifications, facilitating the development and implementation of IT projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SQL, data analysis, and experience with Microsoft SSRS and Microsoft Power BI.

IT Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, project managers, and IT teams, to gather and document business requirements for IT projects. Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand business processes and needs.
  • Analyze complex data sets to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations to support business decision-making processes.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories, ensuring clarity and alignment between business and IT teams.
  • Work closely with the development team to design IT solutions that meet business requirements and align with best practices and existing system capabilities.
  • Write SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using Microsoft SSRS and Microsoft Power BI to provide stakeholders with insightful and actionable information.
  • Assist in data integration efforts, ensuring smooth data flow between various systems and data sources.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to define test cases and participate in system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate the functionality and quality of IT solutions.
  • Support change management activities by preparing end-user documentation, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing support during the implementation phase.
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the enhancement of IT systems and business processes.

IT Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst or similar role, with a focus on SQL, data analysis, Microsoft SSRS, and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Proficiency in SQL querying, data manipulation, and database design concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SSRS and Microsoft Power BI for creating interactive reports and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with data integration concepts and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
