Regional Director of Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair marine engines (diesel, outboard and inboard), electrical, HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, and other critical systems
  • Develop and administer a comprehensive maintenance plan that covers all vessel machinery, systems, and structure in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendation and supplemented by best practices unique to the local area
  • Ensure all vessels comply with contractual obligations relevant to services provided to the public including safety, schedules, fuel use, efficiency, staffing, data collection and reporting, general quality of service, compliance with applicable law
  • Manage and train all engineering and maintenance employees
  • Manage relationships with contractors and vendors
  • Work as a team player and display a positive attitude when faced with challenges

Regional Director of Engineering Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive technical management experience in the maritime industry, preferably with a company in the hospitality, water sports, excursion or expedition arenas
  • Ability to commit long-term, evidenced by no greater than three different employers over the span of any ten-year period.
  • Ability to perform technical maintenance and repair on a wide range of marine propulsion and other shipboard systems
  • Strong estimating and job cost management skills
  • Elite level communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Previous P&L responsibility, with a strong understanding of financial cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes to effectively manage multiple budgets on a routine basis
  • Strong knowledge of, and adherence to, all USCG, OSHA, EPA, and state and local laws and ordinances governing workplace, crew and employee, and environmental safety
  • Proficiency in both G-Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Ability to travel to other company locations, including travel outside the United States
  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is required
